First of all thank you to the committee for my invitation to judge, I especially appreciate the generous gift I received. Every show is struggling, so to see such a wonderful numerical entry was fantastic for the club!

Thank you also to every exhibitor to entered under me, Goldens are a wonderful breed to judge and I truly enjoyed my day. The sun and temperatures made it tricky for everyone so I appreciate those that stayed and bared the heat!

1. 0002 – Tenfield Isobar at Cedardyne. Beautiful head and large bone on good feet. He is young so his proportions are still sorting themselves out, but overall he moved well and soundly, just needs to mature.

1.0004 – Zenevieva Mad As I Am for Whistler. 14 months. Very nice male who is all there, lovely outline on the stack and he holds it on the move. Lovely head with excellent pigmentation and tight lips. Excellent tight feet on strong bone and straight legs. Good ribs into a short loin. He moves out very well with drive and purpose. Considered strongly in the challenge but he just let himself down on the move in the final run off.

1.0006 – Alibren I’m on Fire at Clonabay. Balanced Dog presenting a good outline. Lovely shape to head with excellent dark eyes and rims. Good feet on strong bone. Would like ribs to go back fractionally further and is slightly close behind but moved soundly, reaching out well in front and driving from behind. Lovely shape on the move.

 Champion Dog

1. 0008 – Ramchaine You Spin Me Right Round in Zenevieva. Large masculine head with excellent pigment and shape to eye with correct kindly expression. Good profile when standing but he really comes alive on the move. Very sound and balanced, he holds his shape both when stacked and on the move, although lagging a bit in the heat today but I forgave him. Good tight feet into good bone. He put on a good show in the dog challenge and showed what he is made of. Best Male and RBIS.

1. 0012 – Bang to Rights of Pelennor Fields for Zenevieva. Beautiful girl. Beautiful head and expression, excellent bone and pigment throughout and everything is there in the right place.Lovely happy sound mover – she showed like a trooper for one so young.

Puppy Bitch

1. 0013 – Clonabay Chain of Love. Good outline on this girl with a very pretty head. Good angulation in front and behind, moved soundly coming and going and held her shape on the move. Excellent pigmentation and expression. She challenged well against the older females for Reserve Best Female.

2. 0014 – Conaoimh’s Piper’s Perfect Timing. Decent type, would like to see slightly better bone and strength throughout. Pretty head on straight legs, good tail set and carriage. Moved well and soundly.

 Junior Bitch

1. 0017 – Raistin One Step Closer to Conaoimh. Nice bitch with a lovely head and excellent pigmentation. Slightly longer cast, she moved out well but with some style. Excellent tail set and carriage.

 Intermediate Bitch

1. 0020 – Weisford Ocean Sounds. Balance, balance, balance with this girl! Darker Golden with a nice head and pigmentation and correct length of body. Excellent ribs going well back into a strong loin. Excellent bone and correct cat feet. Moved well with an excellent tail set and carriage, I saw enough to know it was correct. Best Female and BIS on her excellent outline and balanced, sound movement.

2. 0021 – Westlow Starlight. Decent bitch of different type to 1. Taller and not as balanced in profile overall. Nice head with excellent pigmentation. Decent bone on ok feet. Tail carried a touch high for me and the outline was ok on the move.

1. 0024 – Rathcloon Operas N Arias. Balanced bitch with a good head. I would like slightly tighter feet but moved out very well with drive and purpose. Good body and muscle tone, another who had correct ribs going well back and a strong short loin. Excellent tail set and carriage.

1. 0028 – Clonabay Legacy of Love. Nice bitch with an excellent outline on the move. I would like slightly tighter feet. Nice head and the correct kind expression with excellent pigmentation throughout, good body with correct ribs and short loin. She moved out well but couldn’t beat the outline of the puppy in the challenge.

2. 0030 – Lisartan Alaska. Overall her shape was slightly longer in loin. Tail carriage was ok. Her head, although bigger, has an excellent kindly expression. She had excellent tight feet, bone and pigmentation throughout. Excellent muscle tone, clearly she is well exercised and fit for purpose.
